Guelph Wait Times?

Hi Guys! My doctor made a boo boo with my referral the first time around and didn't actually put me on the bariatric registry (thank you all for letting me know that was something that needed to be done!!!) and just sent my referral directly to St. Joe's in Hamilton. Long story short and two months down the drain that I could have been on the registry, I'm finally on it. My mom and I actually decided to do this together and were put on the registry at the same time. However, a couple of days ago she got the call for orientation and I did not. Seeing how heartbroken I was (I really, really want this) she called (I'm not sure who she called lol) and they weren't sure why she got the call first but ended up actually suggesting that we go through Guelph as opposed to St. Joe's. We live in Niagara and it would be farther away but she said it is generally a shorter wait time. I, of course, jumped at the chance. We're still waiting for our orientation calls (it has only been a week since she sent our names over there) but I'm wondering what the wait times are like for Guelph? From orientation to surgery?

My wait time from referral to surgery through Guelph was 1 1/2 years.  I am surprised they suggested Guelph.  If you had any issues after surgery, they usually tell you to go to the ER where your centre is.  If it's really serious go to your local ER.  Having seen both Centres, and the ER for both hospitals, I would personally choose St. Joe's.
