Totally amazing day

Today was an amazing day, a lovely bright sunny Fall day ( I love Fall, its my favorite season). Today I had my pre admission appointment an it went very good. On weigh in I am down 30.5 lbs from my last appointment on July 22 omg what an amazing feeling to see such results for all the hard work. I was very happy about that one. I was very nervous about this appointment and am glad it went so well.

During the meeting with the anesthesiologist she asked if I would enter into a oxygen level study for the effects of anesthesia for people with Sleep Apnea. They will monitor my oxygen this weekend from home for preop #'s and then for 2 days in the Hospital post op again 2 more days from home post op. Should be interesting.

I started Optifast on the 13th and am hoping to lose more. I must say I am not loving Opti yuk lol it has only been 3 days and I am hoping it will get easier lol cuz I still have 17 days to go omg. Any tips to surviving these next 17 days???? :-)

Oh yes update on the expired Optifast they shipped me lol on Monday I called and they immediately shipped me 4 replacement boxes only to find these new boxes were expired lol Tuesday called again only to receive yet another apology and new shipment sent Wednesday lol 3rd time around they were not expired. Like wow :-)

Thanks again for letting me ramble :-)

I am on my fourth day of Optifast and I found the sugar free Tofino syrups really make them easier to swallow,  two tablespoons is one calorie. I also drink it from a cup with a lid, helps with the smell of the shake.

Good luck!

that is great news on your day!  great awesome job on the weight loss before as well - I am sure that will make the surgery and recovery easier!  Thanks so much for sharing and best of luck.  My friend that had this done said that the hardest part of the entire process for her before and after, was the opti ... she said everything else was great after that .. LOL - there is some hope!  good luck.

Thank you.

OMG the Opti is wicked. Today is day four and the worst part is the headaches and having nothing but sweet and more sweet. OMG I would give my Husband for a slice of bacon OMG BACON lol. I tried drinking chicken broth but ewwwww. I feel so robbed other centers allow you to have veggies like cucumber, celery and peppers oh but not TWH lol jello and broth :-( I feel so punished. 16 days and counting. I hear after 1 week it does get better though lol one can only hope.

Thanks. It must be so tough to cook with all the smells and not even taking a teeny tiny little nibble or even just a lick lol. Best of luck with your surgery on Thursday. I look forward to hearing how you are doing. Sending positive vibes all goes well and a speedy recovery.

Probably not the most popular answer, but having some lettuce and cucumbers (no skin) wouldn't hurt you at all. The TWH version of the opti-diet is the most restrictive.

I totally agree. I have been struggling with eating it lol  I honestly feel that I need to stick to the program this is all about compliance and following the program. I am concerned if I don't do this and don't follow the program I will then be risking not following the program post op.
