I did three weeks. It depends on how much they want you to lose based on your start weight. Some people have had to do it longer.

There are recipes available at the Ontario Recipes group

I only used decaf coffee crystals and made it through it. Good luck

This certainly sounds like the hardest part of the whole process!  I've done shake diets before so pretty sure I'll survive ;)  At least this has a chance at success!  Thanks for the site Pam

exciting isn't is!  I'll be at St Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto with Dr David Lindsay.  Make sure you let me know your date!  Sounds like I was wrong and 3 weeks is the standard.  lol.. I think 1 week would be great, but if that's the hardest part of it, i'm okay with the 3 :)

Hi Faye, I did three weeks and was extremely anxious going into it as I wasn't sure how I would be able to manage only having shakes, broth and sugar-free jello!  The first 3 days were the hardest but then I was able to manage it fine ... 4 shakes a day and broth.  I had a nutri-bullet at work for my shakes and then my last shake of the day would always be chocolate and I put enough water in it to have the consistency of pudding which was nice to change it up a bit. I tried using artificial flavouring but I never liked it so just stuck to the vanilla and chocolate.  My mantra was I didn't come this far in the process to screw it up by cheating ... Opti-fast is a 'training ground' for what will come ... stay the course, you've got this! Good luck!

Great advice!  I keep telling myself that same thing and I want this surgery so badly I would do nothing to screw it up!  Basically a teachers pet mentality. Tell me what I need to do and you've got me 100%. Thanks :)
