Anyone know of cheap source for powdered vitamin d- (DS suitable)
What I should have said was "dry" vit D, as in not oil based. For better absorption. Yes, chewable would be great, as long as it is high dose, not just 1000 iu's like usual pharmacy products. My doctors want me to take 50 000 iu's in oil base caps 2x weekly, but with a ds, I fear half is getting flushed. My levels are not improving much. Thanks, -Michelle
To my knowledge no one in Ontario sells this. There are a couple companies in the US who make Vitamin D3 50,000iu ub a dry form capsule.
You could get 2x100 capsule bottles for ~$30-$35 USD + applicable shipping (US only). It ended up costing me $45 USD to have my friend in Arizona ship them to me using Fedex (his wife left them in an oversized Amazon box). I'm sure there has to be some form of shipping that is cheaper.
Even if you could get the cost of 200 capsules all in down to say $50 USD that isn't terrible.
Bio-Tech D3-50 is what I bought. I also got a bottle of the Vitamin A 25,000iu as I was deficient in that myself.
