Cleared for surgery

Got my all clear from the dietitian for surgery today. :) I let my Dr. choose whichever hospital he prefers for my surgery because I have no experience with either/dont know much about them.

Now the question is. How long until surgery at TWH? I'm trying to get a timeline going of when so I can plan things (I show dogs and there's a big show in February I'd like to attend). I'm in no real hurry to ru**** just would be extremely nice to know.

I was cleared for surgery in December, met the surgeon in February and had surgery April 11th.

Generally your surgery is scheduled 2-3 months after the surgeon's appointment at TWH.  It was 2 1/2 months for me.  I can't say enough about how great the staff and the nurses were there.  Very good experience.

The dietitian told me TWH this am, but I just got off the phone who told me St. Michael's. Confused LOL

St Mikes is a terrific hospital.  Have had family members there in treatment for various illnesses and the level of care is outstanding.  Either way, you will be in good hands.

they won't send your file to the hospital until after your surgical education class, they will call you with the date. I'm in Windsor and I'm going to surgery class Monday. you will probably be next month around the 20th is when they have it. after that class it will be 6-8 weeks for the surgeon to call you to have that appointment then you will get your date! 

I had my surgical education class on February 23rd , met the surgeon may 6th and got my  surgery date for august 26th at TWH with Dr jackson .. from start to finish this whole process will be exactly one year

Congratulations,  you're almost there! I was at Humber River, but there was a choice of dates. I'm sure they can work with you.
