Embarrassed & Not Enjoying Strange Noises from Excess Loose Skin

So I recently had to have a Sono Hysterogram (a type of ultrasound for women) at an Ultrasound Clinic.  I of course had to be naked from the waste down for the clinic's GYN (who I don't know).  He performed it along with a couple of other assistants. When getting into the correct position for this procedure my flapping loose skin made very strange noises that absolutely mortified me.  I was so embarrassed that they thought I had passed gas instead it was just the movement of the skin.  I almost felt at the time I should have explained what the noise was (since this wasn't my regular Doc and I had never met him before), but that would have taken so long. At this point, I just wanted to get it all over with and run to my car!  I looked around the room and their faces were all expressionless. I wonder what they said when I left.  They probably thought I was a pig with no manners.   Now that I look back, it is sort of funny.  This only happens of course when naked and not when I am wearing clothing.  I haven't had skin removal surgery yet and it is coming to 3 year post op surgerversary and 180 lbs down (HW 325, CW 145).  Have you ever had these side effects since your weight loss surgery?  Should I have explained myself?

Hi Clare-Anne ... I haven't experienced this kind of thing ... however you shouldn't have to explain yourself regarding this .... Doctors and Nurses see and hear much worse than something that sounds like gas! Congratulations on your weight loss and maintenance ... that's an inspiration to me! Cathy

You have lost 180lbs.....you don't need to be ashamed of anything !!!!

Just think of how it would have went 180lbs heavier !! Not good likely.

Health professionals are pretty unphased by body noises....that's the least of their problems. You were likely just extra nervous being naked ( as we all are ) and having strangers gawking at you.  Tomorrow is a new day.  Put it behind you, and remind yourself how awesome you are!!

I'm starting to embrace my everpresent whoopy cushion.  With the hot weather and sun dresses, if I sit down too quickly all that air waffles through my flapping skin.  .

It's pretty loud but I have come to realize the only one *****ally notices it is me - my reminder of where I have come from

I thought of you this morning. I was heading to the bus stop. Realized I forgot my phone so started running back to the house. My stomach  slapping against my legs was not a pleasant sound. Lol. Loose skin has got to be better, right? ?.

OMG I get the SAME thing.  All the time.  It is embarrassing, but remember there is no dignity in a hospital and it's nothing they haven't seen / heard before.

I would imagine they would have known exactly what happened once they began the procedure and saw everything.

Congrats on your WL!  That's monumental.  Well done.
