i havnt had surgery yet, but I'm guessing the preop or prescreening appointment is when they take some blood, your blood pressure go over everything for surgery (like if you have medical coverage for a private room etc) probably meet with the guy who puts you under so he can say how it's done (if you've never been put under etc) sometimes they have you open your mouth to see what size tube they need. just very basic stuff I have had many many surgeries not rny yet but basically before any surgery they have the preadmin. just to make sure everything is ready to go surgery day :)

referred mid Jan, info session feb 29th, nurse April 25th, nut class may 3rd, Doctor may 10th, social worker may 12th, dietician & sw July 11th, Doctor July 19, surgical education class August 22, meet the surgeon August 31, surgery September 22/16

How exciting for you!  It cannot come fast enough for me - my first RN meeting isn't until Sept 15th so I have such a long way to go; congratulations on getting your date and good luck.

Blood work and stuff but takes FOREVER.    Be prepared to wait for hours

It's a few hours long. They'll give you a paper that everyone checks off as they see you. You'll have blood work done, see the nurse, and then see the anesthesiologist. They will go over everything that will happen on surgery day.
