Optifast question (need a quick answer if possible)

Hello,

I had a friend pick up some optifast that was for sale on kijiji.  She picked up a couple of boxes. But then I realize there are different 'types' of optifast. Like different numbers, 'optifast 900' etc.  I have my meeting with the surgeon later today and now I am worried if I got the right ones.

For those of you who had the optifast which one was it?

I recall when I had my surgery almost 5 years ago it was optifast 900. My understanding was that the others mostly came from the states and didn't have the same nutritional balance we needed but you can compare the ingredients labels.

Also watch out for the expiry date as they don't last as long as you might think.

My understanding is that Optifast 900 is generally sold in Canada, while Optifast 800 is generally sold in the States. I think the number refers to the total calorie count (across 4 daily packages). It does seem to be a slightly different product though I can't tell you what the difference is. 

I have Optifast 900 sitting in my closet waiting to be used ,my surgery is September 2.

As for the expiry date, it is a good idea to check the date.  I am getting RNY on September 9 2016 and I verified the dates on the Optifast that I have and it expires in October 2016.
