I was just curiuos, if any of you packed a bag for the hospital. Since we are there for 24 hours or so, do we need to pack a bag? If you did pack a bag, what kind of stuff did you bring and what didn't you bring that you wish you had? My surgery is 1 month away but I am a planner. My son will be having mini cottage vacation while I am having surgery and I was thinking of starting his list of things I need to pack and that got me thinking about what I will need.

I slept in the hospital gown. I also just wore the clothes home that I came in since I'd only wore them a few hours. I packed a overnight bag, with extra underwear, slippers toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap, deodorant, moisturizer, phone charger. Pillow very important to me. I didn't need anything else.

That's kind of what I thought. If we're only in there 24 hours, would I really need pajama's? I figure they want to have easy access to the surgical site anyway. You said bar of soap, were you able to shower right away after sugery?

I stayed 2 nights in the hospital. I brought Pj's but didn't get to use them - or underwear! All the things they hook up to you are nuts lol. If you can bring your own pillow, go for it. Toothbrush/toothpaste. Slippers for sure because they want you walking asap. A hairbrush.

Oh deodorant! Honestly the drugs kept me sleeping me most of the time so you really don't need much :P

I agree you don't need a lot.  You will be walking resting and sleeping most of the time there.  Lots of women seem to get their periods enduced from the surgery...(I did)....you might want to be prepared for that just in case!!!

I brought my phone, but forgot my charger.  Dont forget your charger!!!!  Having a dead battery when you are bored, nervous and lonely..... sucks!!!

Good to know, I will be prepared. LOL, I won't forget my charger. In fact my husband will probably spend the night (I read on here that was possible, I'll find out at my pre-op appointment on the 29th) and he will for sure need his devices so we will probably bring our portable battery charger!!!

If your having it at Humber than yup hubby can stay. He can use the shower too, it's right in your room. Big screen TV with cable as well. It's so nice.
