Trio appointment at HRRH

Hello, I have my trio appointment at Humber this week and it's my understanding that they are not doing any surgeries for a few months due to lack of funding or running out of the funding for this fiscal year.  I went to meet the surgeon back in November and Dr. Hagen wasn't in - after waiting a few hours (and paying for parking and taking a vacation day off work) we were told the appointment would have to be rescheduled (it was - I met Dr. Klein in December). For my trio appointment this week I've had to take the day off work again and drive over an hour to get there. I've called and left messages but haven't heard back from them. I'm worried about showing up only to be told my appt will need to be rescheduled.

My question is: has anyone gone for their trio appt lately? I'd feel better knowing other folks are still attending their trio appointments without them being cancelled :)

Trying to use this time to learn all I can about the procedure and implement as many healthy changes as possible - I'm starting to wonder if this is really going to happen, lol!

I had my trio there last week. Everything went as planned. Just make sure you know the eating phase for after surgery the order they are in, how long each stage lasts and types of foods to eat. Good luck

OK, great! Thanks for the advice - I've been studying and trying to live as though I've already had the surgery. I'm doing well - just hoping I can keep it up!

I think I have the stages and food down pat as well as the procedures. 

Did they give you any further dates or are you now waiting for the internist?

I am waiting for my appointment with Dr. Glazer for now, I wasn't clear enough on the stages for the dietician so she is doing a reassessment by phone. I knew all the physical stuff inside and out, plus how the minerals and vitamins get absorbed, and how that changes after surgery. I wasn't super clear on the food stages, and told her I assumed I would be able to look at the various pieces of literature I had that outlined the stages as I progressed through them. Apparently that's not the right answer :)
