How long after surgery did everyone start to exercise? I bought a treadmill, I'm 3 weeks post op and feel good enough to give it a whirl.

Walking is encouraged right away...take it easy..work up slowly...no running or rattling around those insides for a while yet though.  Stay hydrated !

I was walking up and down the hall at home etc after surgery, last night I did 15 minutes on the treadmill and that was enough for one night! Will give it another go after work today.

Walking is fine, we do it as soon as we can after surgery.  Just listen to your body. It will tell you when it's done.

As Catw said, just listen to your body!  You will know when you have had enough.  No need to pu**** right away.  Wait for your body to heal.  I waited until last week to get my gym membership and I had my sugery on Nov 23rd.  Granted I felt great days after my surgery and wanted to start right away but I let myself heal.  I do not like the treadmill but love the elliptical so thats what I am doing.  Good luck!
