Dimpflmeier High Protein Bread

Has anyone tried the new high protein bread from Dimpflmeier?  I've had the P28 bread and was wondering if anyone could compare the two taste-wise.  It is only available at the outlet store in Etobicoke and was hoping someone can tell me if it's worth the drive.  The P28 is close to $10 a loaf and twice now I've opened the bag to find the inner wrapping torn.

Stats on the Dimpflmeier brand:

Per 44 g (I'm assuming 1 slice):  Cal 144, Fat 3 g (0.5 g saturated), Cholesterol 0 g, Sodium 141 mg, Carbs 6 g, Fiber 5 g, Sugar 1 g, Protein 14 g

Stats on the P28 brand:

Per slice:  Cal 130, Fat 3.5g (0 g saturated), Cholesterol 0 g, Sodium 215 mg, Carbs 12g, Fiber 2 g, Sugar 3 g, Protein 14 g

Thanks!

The stats you wrote down for the Dimpflmeir don't add up to 144 cals.  Those stats add up to 107 cals so maybe one of your numbers is off.  Is is actually called Dimpflmeir high protein?  I've never seen it in any of our grocery stores and just checked their site and don't see one called that either.

ETA: I see one on their Twitter called Carb Smart Bread so must be that one but don't see any stats per slice or serving just per 100 grams and a loaf is 400 grams so don't think 1 slice is 100 grams.  LOL

The stats given were from the nutritional info the bakery sent me in an email.  Unfortunately in the email it didn't give the name but yes, it is called Carb Smart if I search for it online and look at the Facebook link.  On the radio advertisement, the name is not given, just the company name and the grams of protein (31g per 100g).  At this point it is only available at the bakery retail store in Etobicoke for $4.85 a loaf.  Quite honestly, more looking for something that isn't packaged as the P28 is as I'm tired of getting ripped off with  freezer burned bread that costs an arm and a leg.

The carbs seem way too low for a bread so I bet it should have had a 1 in front of it then it would add up to the 144.  Thanks for the info where it's only available at the moment.  I don't eat much bread at all so just usually eat their light rye as it's low cal and has some protein and gives me the bit of bread that I crave now and then.

Like you I'm not a big bread person now but I need a vessel for the deli meat. I've tried numerous times to do the roll ups people eat but can't get them down with getting grossed out. A loaf of the P28 used to last me a month.

Have you tried using romaine leaves to roll meat and cheese in?  I actually prefer it to bread.

Tracey, what a good idea!  I have used romaine leaves for boats for tuna salad and stuff, but I had never thought to actually roll the lettuce with the deli roll ups, or roll the lettuce around the roll ups. Both would work... brilliant

It would be awesome to have a low carb high protein bread available at the grocery store, thanks for mentioning this.  I agree the p28 is expensive and could be improved. Did they say  where we can buy it?

Really ??? 6 carbs and 5 fiber ? insoluble fiber? cause that would mean net carbs would be just 1 gram

Sorry but am I missing something? Here is an add from the website. On the site I search for protein and the add popped up.

It says 13g carbs 12g fiber in 100g.

Contacted the company. Only at the Etobicoke location right now. $5 a loaf. I e-mailed them to get a price and shipping quote. Will post update once I know more.
