Sorry you have to travel to a hospital again. You are a great friend.
Managed to wrap some gifts last night. Will finish tonight or tomorrow. I am having company for Christmas Eve but not sure when they are arriving. I hop to know today.
I have always had crappy nails even before WLS. They peal off constantly. I have been trying these gummy supplements. I think my nails are even worse! One figure is sore because the nail broke off right at the top edge. I think for the wedding next year I will get fake ones

Good morning Pat. I'm a nail queen. I would recommend the shellac nails with tips if nails are short. They are easier on your nails if you only want them short term. I have gel and they are tough but I get them done every 4 weeks and have no intentions of going without gel nails. My nails below the gel are quite thin I'm sure because they have to sand the gel off each time.
By the way what are latkes?
Hi Pat,
I too have terrible nails (always have) but I think I slammed the nail in their coffin (so to speak) when I got acrylic/fake nails several years ago, wore/maintained them for years and the mess that I am left with now, without them, is awful. Misshapen nails, paper-thin, terrible. I agree with Monica - do the least invasive approach if you want pretty nails for the wedding next year.
AND... I've been awol - congratulations to you and your family! I'm assuming your son is getting married?
P.S. I love latkes. Jesse works at a Jewish restaurant just across from Kensington Market and the owner's latkes are quite famous with the pre-order for the holidays being HUGE. He always brings some for Christmas dinner - our little taste of Hanukah. ;)

Pffft... finding the perfect dress is a lengthy process. I'm hoping she's not advising you which colour to wear/not wear? lol
Styles change, preferences change... take your time, dammit. lol
