Got my surgery date
Surgery date is February 10th and start opti January 20th. Surgery in Ottawa with Dr Mamazza. Turns out Dr Neville is booked until April now.
Getting excited to start the opti.
Hey Michelle:
glad all has gone well. My surgery date is jan25
And start opti for 2 weeks. Glad it's almost here as it's been a long haul and the date will be here before you know it.
Be prepared and you will do fine , one thing I've been told by a lot of people on the forum is to get up and walk ASAP as it's the only way to relieve the abdominal gas you will have and will decrease the nausea.
Glad all has gone well
keep us updated how you do.
Good luck
Simon
Good luck on your surgery :) I have my surgery with Dr.Mamazza on January 9th. And I can't wait to be done with the optifast. I'm mainly bored since I only got 1 box of vanilla and the rest chocolate. Never thought I'd hear myself say I was sick of chocolate lol. In 7 days I lost 9 pounds. Haven't weighed myself since but the stuff really works :) stay strong it will all be worth it.

Hi Michelle I'm booked also for surgery on Feb 10th with Dr Mamazza.
I had to start Opti Fast today because of my liver.
The first day was much easier than expected.
Will see you on surgery day .
Hi
nice to hear from you and I look forward to seeing you on surgery day.
glad to hear the opti isn't so bad. I have stocked up on my sf flavours and got small blender for when I'm not at home. Picked up the meta fibre too. Just worried how bad the opti trots will be.
Good luck with the opti and see you soon.
Had my surgery yesterday with Dr. Mamazza and everything went well. I had major nausea from the anesthetic though, so that was not so fun. Aside from that I was up and moving as soon as they would let me get up. They kept referring to me as their rockstar. I wanted to get up and walk and pee immediately. There was no way they were putting a catheter in me! So far I have had minimal amount of pain and was released today at 11am. Will post updates as it goes along. The best thing you can do for yourself after the surgery is to do the deep breathing and coughing to get the gas out, as well as walking. I found if I did a trip or 2 up the hallway that I would feel a little crampy and then expel gas and feel the pressure relief. Good luck to those going in for their surgery soon!
Glad things went so well for you and that you only had to stay in the hospital for one night. They told me to expect to stay two nights. But hopefully things will go well if I do the breathing and walking.
keep us updated on your progress.
