Orientation at HRRH

Is Is else going for orientation at hrrh on Dec 10 at 9 am?

sorry to hear no one has replied to you yet. But they have been reading it. I see you posted this before. Maybe they havent found this site yet. Or maybe shy? I am from the Barrie area as well. Which I think you are to right? I have my orientation in April. I'm just waiting for my trio appointment Jan 15th.  If you want to chat some more, I'm on here to.

I decided to not wait and just go ahead and ask my referring dr to send me for a sleep test...I was lucky and they put me in where someone had cancelled, so I am going this Sunday, Dec 13 to get that done.

I am dreading the long wait....I am not the most patient person....

Yes I'm going through Humber as well. LOL, I did the same, scheduled a sleep test before it was ordered. I read alot of posts from here and each were saying it was required. I also booked an endoscopy because I have acid reflux, thats on the 21st of december. I cannot wait to finally get this surgery. I was referred in back in Feb. Dr. Hagen told me at the first durgeon it my surgery will be Spring.

so what other tests should I just go ahead and get my family dr to go ahead and order ahead of time??  I have acid reflux, but was never officially diagnosed with GERD.

I only read that the sleep test was a requirement. I asked for the endoscopy because I have had reflux/food sensitivities since I was little, ,so I wanted to check and make sure they were okay and woulndnt be a hold up for the surgery. My doctor threw in the colonoscopy. Yay me! LOL. Ive heard some having to get an endoscopy before surgery approval. That may be an idea for you since you have reflux. Im a "just in case" kinda person, didnt want to be held up to have surgery. It takes a bit to get in, so you may want one, just so you can check it off your list, doesnt hurt right?  But who knows what the surgeon is going to want you to get, but it would be one thing less you would need if you already have it done while you are waiting.

I also had some blood work (thyroid) and a couple other tests and MRI's done, but they are for my carpol tunnel. I have my right hand surgery now on march 10, I was supposed to be Jan 14th, had to reschule because my co-teacher is leaving Jan.4. 

I had mine earlier in the year in March :) 

so how long after the orientation does it take to hear anything?  I hear of people getting on a cancellation list, how do you do that?  Just call the clinic?  I am pretty lucky because my work is pretty flexible with me.

I am so anxious to get this going, lol!

It did seem to take awhile for me to get in. Aloth of the others that were in the same orientation seemed to have gotten the trio appointments and tests before me.  Yes, call the office and be put on the cancellation list if you can.

I just had my first surgeon appointment in november. Now awaiting my trio appointment in January. Unfortunately, I have read that some get missed to. So get your name in there. I do not want the cancellation list anymore. The surgeon said I am looking at march/april surgery and that wouldbe perfect for me, I'll be off on carpol tunnel surgery.

I have read of a few people having carpal tunnel surgery on or around wls. why is that?
