Good day everyone.  Had a few less than perfect eating days while at conferences, getting back on track.  I find it really disturbing how much crap I can eat now without feeling sick - dangerous and I will need to be more vigilant.  I can eat a whole bagel for crying out loud, is that normal?  How did you guys cope with knowing you can eat more and feeling more hungry at times?

15 months post op

Morning all. Have another day off today and i just have to Finnish one assignment due tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon Pat, dreary weather out there today, it's been foggy all night. Ziz i hear you on being vigilant. So much food around this time of year, kinda hard to stay on track, but i try. Last two xmases were easy on me as i sick most of the time, now that i'm feeling better, i can eat anything and it scare me sometimes. On the bagel, i think it's normal to be able to eat a whole one. I can eat half at a time and there are some days i feel hungrier than others for sure.

Omg it is crazy, one day I can barely choke down any food, next day I can eat an write bagel in one sitting!  What the heck?  I read you post in feeling obsessed with food, it's good that you are aware, I would contact your centre see if there are supports available to assist you.  If your gut is telling you something is off you are probably right.  Your menus look good to me although sometimes the calories seem low, is that what concerns you?

Thanks Ziz. I missed my 2yrs in October because of school and scheduling, but i'm definitely going next month during xmas break. They have always been nice and encouraging, so i'm sure they will be again. I think i subconsciously reduce calories and yes, getting to the recommended 1-1200 cals concerns me. Obviously i'm not losing any more at the amount i've been for a while, fear of increasing them = gaining. That's my thought process anyways. Will keep you posted though.

I blame my bagel eating during years 2 and 3 with the start of my regain.  Yes I can eat a whole one.  I am stuffed but I can do it.  Now when I do indulge - I eat half and half later

Its tough Zizzler - that's why I always say lose as much at the beginning as possible as it will never be this easy again

When you fall down you have to pick yourself up again and start fresh.  Get back on the horse as soon as possible and try to have many more good or great days then poor eating days

There is something about free food that causes me to lose my willpower and go off track.  I am just coming out of a long low calorie time where I was lucky to get 600 cals a day, so maybe this hunger is the pendulum swinging the other way?  Not proud of my eating fails but going to try to learn from them, next time bring my own snacks! Ugh it really does get harder.  You were mentioning feeling empty mist of the time, does it hurt when you feel empty?  Or is it just a feeling of not being full?
