Feeling nervous

My surgery is less than 48 hours away now and I'm starting to feel nervous about it. I have everything I'll need when I get home in place.  I won't change my mind because i really  do want  it.  I think it's because my husband and I were at the lawyer's today to sign our updated wills. I have a positive outlook that everything will go well. I  guess maybe I'm just looking for some reassurance.

I'm sure everything will go great and you will be on the loser's bench sooner that later :) I'm in it with you and feel exactly the same as my surgery is on Friday. We are in this together. All the feelings are completely normal. So much to think of and make sure everything is in place. Good luck with everything and PM if you want to 'talk'. This forum is such a great tool and I so appreciate everybody's support.

I think its natural to be nervous.  I am and I'm just going on Friday to see the surgeon and get my date.  Just want to pass on some encouragement.  Many others have done this and I'm sure you will do just great.  Keep us all posted and good wishes for Friday.

Completely understandable to be nervous.  I will be 2 weeks post op on Wednesday and I can completely relate to how you are feeling.  Just remember to stick to the program and what they ask you to do.  Sip your water, walk the gas pains out.  Good luck and you both will do fine.

Completely understandable. I am 2 weeks post-op tomorrow.

You are in good hands - just let them do their job and listen to what needs to be done in hospital (walk, sip, walk, sip and rest)

Wishing you all the best!

Everyone I know who's had this surgery is thrilled with the results.  One guy at my work had no pain, got up without help after a few hours and was free of his diabetes before leaving the hospital (Toronto Eastern, Dr. Cyriac's team.)  You'll be well cared for.

You are about to go on a path in new territory for you, it's normal to be nervous about it.  This surgery is a big change, and you don't know wha to expect for you on the other side.  You have seen a lot of possibilities, but  you are you.  Once you are through surgery, you'll wonder what you were worried about.  As I said, normal.  I'd wish you luck, but you have a great team doing all the work, and they've done this countless times before so you don't need any.  You get the easy part, all you need to do is go in and have a nap.  When you wake up, you'll be starting your new life.
