Clothing size vs weight

So I have not posted in a while but thought this warranted a time out for a post.

So I am 1 yr and 8 mths post op.  Been out and about and active living and loving life.

Had my surgery April 2014 but I have weighed 156 pounds since about Dec 2014 and my weight has not changed and my weight center indicated this was an ideal weight for me when I had my 1 year appointment, and I should be happy with the results.  I was a little disappointed with this and had  set my goal for 147 pounds.  My center indicated because I work out daily that this would not be realistic and I needed to remove my focus from the scale weight getting lower.  It took a while to accept and almost one year later I still weight myself daily with a glimmer of subconscious hope for a change but accepting that my weight remains the same.  Honestly I wear size small/8 in clothes which is pretty awesome.  My tummy is flat without plastic surgery and my arms are getting firmer (they were my problem area).

So here is the reason for my post.........This winter was my first season repeat season at my current weight of 156 pounds, and funny enough I noticed when I put on my coats which I wore Jan 2015 and a dresses from Christmas 2015, where both fit perfectly at the time are now a size or two too big....interesting.

It is moments like this that I love, where I realise that my body is still changing and I am happy that I stopped worrying about weight loss # .  I will honestly still weight myself daily (it actually relaxes me to ensure I have not gained), but that nagging subconscious little doubt I had I feel i can now let go off.......

This really is a process that is long and slow and while the weight loss may be quick'ish, the changes and realisations continue for some time.  I will never regret this surgery and honestly it is amongst the best decisions I have made in life so far......

On another note, yay, I also get to but new holiday dresses and new coats for this winter guilt free.....

Have a nice day everyone.....

Kelly

Thanks for posting this! It haS been a bit frustrating for me lately as I have been in size 16 pants from 240lbs to 200lbs. Your post gives me hope that things are still settling and there are lots of changes to come.

I have found the same thing.  While my weight is pretty steady, when I try on clothes from last year they do fit but are on the roomy side...feels good doesn't it?

That most certainly is a first in my history.  I am hoping I can actually wear some clothes right out vs having to replace 'cause they don't fit anymore.

Cheers to having the same "problem" 5 years down the road

Your post sounds almost exactly like my situation, I am 15m post op at 155 but want to get to normal bmi at 145.  It is excruciatingly slow now but my clothing size is still going down, I'm at a 7 in pants omg and a small-medium in tops.  I still find it hard to believe!  Have you noticed you can eat more? I sure have, it's going to be harder now...

Yes, I can eat more meals, but not more in one meal.  I can still only tolerate small portions.  I find I am hungrier later in the afternoon so I try to eat a banana or something healthy.
