Tough Decision, But I Made It

Committed to moving forward today towards surgery. Set first appointments with nurse, dietitian and social worker in Guelph.

Scared. Nervous. Excited.

And full of all those stupid questions us newbees have. Like how the heck do you remember to drink your water?

One thing that helped me make my decision was attending a support group meeting, where the people were so, so helpful and supportive. Definitely recommend that to anyone considering surgery.

Here we go .....

Referral: Sept. '15; Orientation: Oct. '15; Nurse: Nov. 30 '15: Dietitian: Dec. 7 '15; Social Worker: Dec. 7 '15. SW: 363.

Congrats on moving forward toward better health.

I bought a 2 Litre container -- fill it every morning and keep it on my desk so I can see how much I have drank and how much more I have to finish.

I have a 700ml water bottle I can carry in my purse.  I put 3 elastics around it.  I move one up to a groove in the bottle, every time I fill it. When all 3 elastics are in the groove, I know it is my last refill to finish. Then 2L are done.

Sounds like you're ready to go through this, you'll be fine.  And the emotions, don't worry, they are normal.  If you need an answer, the question isn't stupid.

Glad you found the support group meeting helpful.  Everyone things that they are going through this alone, but once you realize the support that you have, it makes it much easier.
