being released from hospital
Hi,
I came home Monday. I took the extra little cups from the hospital to help me with the sipping. I was worried I would drink too much too fast. When I got home I stuck with water. The next day I did some water, a little bit of broth which I didn't like and then a Premier protein drink from Costco. The nurse did call on Tuesday and was glad to hear I was sipping the protein drink. The dietitian had visited me in the hospital before I was discharged and so that everything had to fall off the spoon. So basically be a liquid not thick. Today is Wednesday and I think I have it down. I was drinking three little cups in an hour like they told me at the hospital but after speaking to the nurse i realize I can drink more often but keep sipping. My plan today is 2 premier drinks which is going to be 60 g of protein and the res****er. I may try vegetable broth today to see if I like it better than the chicken. My first day home was difficult because I also slept in the morning and another nap in the afternoon. To get all this fluid and you need to be awake. So being a teacher I made myself a checklist lIke i do for my students and I color in a circle every time I can drink some water. I hope things go well for you.

Use the cups. Very handy and just the right size for sipping. I was able to sip light broth...little cup at the 15 ml mark of Jello. You can try a little sip of protein shake. If you have can of soup, make sure you strain out the lumps. Sip of camomile tea is soothing and helps move the gas.
