St. Joes

Just wondering what the process is like at St. Joes, my doctor has recommended I have surgery and it would be with the  St. Joes clinic. I've read a little bit into it but I'd rather hear it from someone who has gone through it. 

What I mean is, after the referral did it take long to get in? How long did it take to get approved and how do they do go about getting you approved? Anything else that is important.

I can't be sure about your particular hospital, but it feels like a year is about the norm for most.

If you are referring to St Joes Hamilton....I was referred Jan /14,  orientation june/14 first appts May/15 surgery July/15.

My process has been long over a year and a half, but that's because I am going through the Northern Ontarios referral system, through another clinic in Sudbury then in the end of all the appointments referred to St. Joes.  But from when I had my first surgeon meeting to my surgery date it is 4 months. But as far as the orientation and the trio appointments etc. at St. Joes I'm not sure of the time frame.  Best of luck to you and I hope you have an easy and speedy process.

IF you are referring to St Joes in Toronto, like the above poster i went threw Sudbury Bariatric clinic for all my appointments and then my file was sent to St Joes to Dr Sullivan.  From start to fini**** was 16 months for me.
