TWH timeline?

Hi again! (So I completed my appointments at HRRH and then had to switch to TWH... And now I'm almost done my TWH appointments. Thank goodness!!)

Anyway, for curiosity sake - I have my dietician appt Nov 23, and my psychology Dec 1st.

How long from then do you hear about meeting the surgeon? And does anyone have a rough ideas of how long from that meeting with the surgery until surgery is scheduled?

(My HRRH surgery date was to be August 31st.)

I'm hoping late February for TWH if my last appointment is Dec 1st. Is that wishful thinking?

Thank you for any insight! I'm getting excited again that I might finally be at the end of this crazy long process!

why did they switch hosptals on you? This waiting suck so badly I just got my first meet the dr appt and its been 1 year

They didn't switch hospitals on me, I switched!  Totally my decision. My August date was not possible for me (had it been 8 days earlier it would have been fine, but with that date I'd have to reschedule to November. In November I was no longer able to stay with a friend in the city {she's winters in Florida} - so since it was February, I thought maybe by flipping to TWH I'd get in by mid August at TWH since I'd already completed all my appointments, or at least I could stay with another friend that lives within 1 hour of TWH if my date was in the winter months....  But TWH had me start right over from the beginning - which is not always the case...  I just have incredibly bad luck!) 

So 100% my decision to change centres.  And it looks like the date I'll get through TWH will be about the same if I'd rescheduled through HRRH anyway.  Not a huge loss - just a bunch of info that's different from one centre to the next!  

ugh  the waiting is so brutal.... I hope it all works out for you with the best possible timing. I am so confused why they would make you start over with all the appts.   But its strange that the info is not the same :0   Also while I am talking about the process it kinda upsets me some people get through in a few months and I have waited an entire year just to meet the Dr ..... so awful 

I can absolutely sympathize with your frustration on your timeline!!!  I hear crazy stories of 2+ year waits.  I think all said and done I'll be around 21 months - if I have surgery by April.  

I wish I knew, too.  The nurse I spoke to when I switched even said "we don't make you do the appointments again normally, you just have to do orientation and the nutrition class." Then at orientation I was handed my appointment dates for the NP and Social Worker!  Both those appointments were less than 30 minutes at least, and I did them via telehealth since TWH is two hours from my home with light traffic. 

That is so unfair ...... I hope the we both see progress with getting on with this LOL   I have the trio appts on the 23rd   Now I am worried about those appts .....   I have no idea what to expect with the social worker

you are lucky you were 1 year from referral to procedure  I have waited a year and I am just meeting the Dr on the 12th..... 

I had my last appt on Aug 28, went into rounds on Sep 3, and 1 week later got my call for surgeon consult on Oct 2. They scheduled the surgery 2 months out, for Dec 4th. They are getting better with their timelines.

Do you know if there is a standard day for rounds?  September 3rd was a Thursday, is that rounds day for them perhaps?
