Toronto East
My surgery (Tbd) will be at Toronto East. I'm coming from three hours away so I have 2 questions.
- Any comments on the hospital.
- Good hotels near by.
Referral Date: June 9, 2015. Orientation July 17, 2015. First NP meeting October 2, 2015, Dietitian and Social worker meeting October 23, 2015. Pre-op meeting Nov 11, 2015, Tele - conference with Surgeon Dr. Aart Nov 18, 2015, Start Opti December 1, 2015, Surgery December 15, 2015

Hi, I had a stay at Toronto East back in 2002. I had no issues at all. As the hospital is not downtown there are not a ton of options. The only one that I know of is the Days Inn Toronto Beaches. It is at 1684 Queen St East between Coxwelll and Kingston Rd. It is only a 10 min car/cab ride, or the TTC is an option. You can take the Coxwell bus right to the hospital. You could check airbnb to see if there are any private condo's or homes avaliable.

My surgery was w/ Dr. Cyriac at TEGH in August. The hospital is old and dark, halls are packed with equipment once you get up to the floor the room is on. When they take you in for surgery -- it is very modern. The room bariatric patients stay in (large beds) is the best room on the floor that we could see. Staff is pretty good.
