Off Optifast, tons left, can I return it?
Turns out that I couldn't tolerate Optifast due to my ulcerative colitis. My surgeon said I'm the first patient he's had with UC. So, no wonder they didn't know I'd end up so ill.
Now, I have 2+ boxes of Optifast sitting in my living room. Does anyone know if it's returnable? I bought it through a specialty pharmacy in Mississauga. I just wasn't sure if anyone has had success with this. I did have to call them while ordering and they weren't the most friendly people when I was giving them money. I'm not sure how they will be when I ask for money back.

Yeah, I was just wondering about the unopened boxes. My pharmacy takes back things (a little creepy, if you think about it). But yeah, for that reason I'm reluctant to phone them to ask. That's why I was trying to feel the waters here first. If someone else had already been reamed a new one by the pharmacist, then I didn't want to be next in line. : )
Thanks for the response!

Hi tatirod I had to buy 4 boxes of Opti and only ended up using 3 as my surgery was a bit earlier than the full 3 weeks I was scheduled to be on the Opti for and to be honest some days I just couldn't get that 4th shake in. I called Medical Mart in Mississauga where I bought it and asked if I could return the 4th box and they said no - "no refunds or exchanges on prescription products" or something to that effect. I ended up packing it up and sending it to a member on here who needed Opti but was short of funds, sort of paying it forward. But if you wanted to go to the support group at TWH on either November 4th or November 18th and see if someone wanted to buy it from you that's an idea too. Good luck!
Check with your support group, I agree.
Each package is clearly marked "Not for resale" and each package has an expiry date. (My expiry date on my leftover packages was 9 months after I purchased it)
Also, my Opti is titled 900 and I am not sure if those that go for 6 months to a year on Opti take that strength. Be clear with whomever you give it to that this is the strength they need.
Be patient, I see related questions from time to time on the forum. Best scenario is if someone at your group can take them over.
Oh yes, sorry you could not tolerate Opti. Be well and good luck

Thanks! I had a feeling returning a prescription wasn't going to work. Just thought I'd ask. : ) At least I didn't have to call and get yelled at by MediMart (tee hee).
I truly appreciate all the responses!
