Protein Shakes
Hi everyone!
I'm hoping for some suggestions on protein shakes. I bought some ready to drink chocolate Premier Protein as well as a tub of the chocolate Premier Protein powder. From what I've been reading here, and in other reviews, they seem to be really well liked. Well, I'm sad to say that I DON'T like them! The chocolate flavour isn't good at all (to me) and when put in the blender or shaker bottle they get way too frothy. What is your opinion on something better? There seems to be a lot of you who drink GNC Lean shakes. How do they compare?
Thanks in advance!
Sarah

Hi sarasmile
Karen M. a member here told me about the GNC Lean Protein shakes back in the summer and I tried the banana one and loved it. I went when GNC had buy 4, get the 5th free and I tried banana, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. I liked them all but banana was my favourite. I would say get one of each flavor and give it a try. You do have to buy a membership at GNC to get the member's price (I think it's $10 or $15 and is good for a year) but it is worth it. They also sometimes have buy one get one free and buy one get one at 50% off.
If your stuck with any of the Premier shakes my recommendation to you would be to try different flavoured sugar free syrups like Torani or something like that to add flavouring that may be better tolerated than just plain. Also, if you like coffee, you could mix the chocolate Premier with coffee to make it like a mocha.
I also tried a protein powder called DIESEL that I got a sample from at Nutrition House. I had the chocolate peanut butter one and a strawberry one and they were both good and next time I buy protein powder that's the one I am going to get. It's 40 g of whey protein isolate and I didn't mind the taste at all, both were quite yummy.

I hated Premier but really enjoy the GNC ones. I"d buy individual ones or just the 4 pack of whatever flavour you think you may like. My fav is the strawberry. I wouldn't even buy the Gold Card until you try them unless you plan to buy other things there if you happen to not like the shakes. For powders, I like Isoflex in all flavours and I get it at GNC so for me the gold card is well worth the savings that I get.
