surgery in a about a week (oct 6th)
Hey Cristy D...you are in my 'hood. I'm sure you are beside yourself with excitment.
Bring a little pillow with you to put over your stomach between you and the seatbelt to keep your surgery area from jiggling while in the car. You don't need to bring lots of stuff with you to the hospital since every walking moment is best spent sipping, walking, and of course tootin.
Good luck this is the best life decision for your health.
Earplugs! You can p/u cheap foam ones at most drug stores. I took very little into hospital - used their gowns for housecoat as well. If I got ill, it would be their laundry, not mine. The shoes I wore in -- were the only shoes I used, didn't take slippers - but it was sandal season!. You may want to have socks at the ready if your feet get cold.
Best of luck and... beware the Jello!
PILLOWS!!!!! My roomie at Humber had taken ALL the pillows, I literally had NONE!! But I had brought my own anyway because I'm anal about my pillow, and then my hubby was discharged the day after and I had to stay an extra day so I got his pillow too!!!!
I 2nd the earplugs, I didn't have them and I wished I did... also bring stuff to keep you occupied.. I had my ipad with shows/movies on it...but like another poster said, you want to walk as much as you can.... get the gas OUT...
