Thx Hun....Yes I know why I had the study, because of safety in surgery but what I don't understand is that I'm very mild he said and he was really pushing me to buy and treat it now...just found that weird and pushy...also I would wear for surgery if really instructed to but I think not :(.

I'm scared this will slow up my process and I know my own body, I'm not in need of one of these :(

When you were given the results, did the doctor prescribe you a CPAP?  If so, you will have to wear it unfortunately. Fortunately, however, it will provide you with appropriate sleep and stave off possible complications of the apnea - heart attack and lack of oxygen to your body and organs not the least of them.  Having sleep apnea won't prevent you from having surgery as many of us suffer(ed) from it.

He didn't prescribe me , that's just it, I'm confused.  He said.. it should probably be treated but said no more??..I'm going to make apt to review the results with my doc ..yes?

A big yes to making an appointment to review the results!  Not getting the results (and following through with treatment, if prescribed) will bring your process to a halt. Best get on it! :)

Karen is absolutely right. If you were prescribed cpap, you must use it until you are told by further sleep studies you no longer need it.

You don't use this unit during surgery, it's for post op in recovery if needed, so you bring it to your surgery date.

Dont fear it, use it, it may save your life. Sleep apnea can/is a life threatening condition.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and now waiting for a cpap machine . I was disappointed when the doctor first told me but I am on this journey to be In better health so I will do what I have to. Just think of it as another addition to a healthier you and enjoy this journey.

For me, the "sleep doctor" (ie, the guy who gave me the sleep study results) told me I needed a CPAP machine but I had to source a place on my own to purchase one. I went around the internet trying to find a CPAP place, then I got a phone call one day from a CPAP place. I guess the doctor's office had given my info to someone. It was weird.

I'd call the office and ask if you were supposed to get a prescription. Maybe you can just pick it up. Did he give you the report? The place that supplies the CPAP machine will need the report to know what settings to use on your machine.

Good luck! I hate leaving a doctor's office with more questions than answers.

Grrr...I know...I could hardly understand him to be honest (which really ****** me off to be honest)

He said I would have to do another study to get the settings right if I decide I want to get a machine??.......that's why I want to talk to my doc who knows me better because it really was mild he said and what a waste to do all this for nothing !!  I really was upset when I came out as he didn't really

make anything clear to me and I deserve that!!!....I do not have funds to pay for anything extra right now and to be treated this way annoys me :(  Did offer me a report, prescription...nothing??

I have no problem wearing one in recovery and would want to if I needed it of course...but why buy one when I prob don't need one  24/7 ..especially as my MILD apnea would probably disappear after losing the weight...along with a lot of other of my problems LOL??
