This waiting is awful!
Sorry you're feeling frustrated with the wait. Your experience does seem to be an unusually long wait. I hope you hear something soon from them! Dawn did give some great advice in her blog, some that I need to take to heart as well. I hope that once you get that call, things go at the pace they need to go at for you!

Thank you everyone for your replys. I was having another mellow impatient day. LOL. Great advice Dawn. Thanks for that. I have been researching the program, trying to be aware of my eating, and working on getting other health issues delt with. I know i would be a ccandidate for a sleep study since both parents have apnea, and colon cancer is in the family, so I thought I could get those tests out of the way while I wait. i just wish i'd hear something.
I had my orientation April 27th at St. Joe's and at orientation they said we would hear something within a month for appointments etc so after not hearing anything back within that time frame I called the other day and the lady told me I wouldnt hear anything for 7-8 months and I would get something in the mail 1 month before for the lists of tests they need!. I expected a wait for my first appointment but 7-8 months before I hear anything!?
Hi don't hold your breath!! My orientation was Jan 26/15 just got called a week ago!! For surgeon appointment. Good luck.

Hi Terri
Thanks for posting I had my orientation at HRRH February 27th and this wait has been driving me nuts. At orientation we were told 4-6 week but in actuality it's more like 12 weeks min. At least I know they are finally getting closer to my name on the list. Please post how your appointments go I'm trying to gather as much info as possible about this whole process.
Amanda
It was almost 5 months from my Jan 9, 2015 Orientation at HRRH until a week and a half ago when I was given my first surgeon appt and trio. That being said, this past 5 months has been an eye opener for self discovery and educating myself about RNY. Join as many support groups and forums as possible and do your research. I now know 5 months ago when I went for orientation I thought I was ready but the more I learned it became clear I/We need this time. Good Luck to ALL on this amazing journey
