This waiting is awful!
Good morning everyone. I feel a bit down this morning. Hope you can help me get myself back up and get excited for this. I went for my orientation at Humber on the 24th of april and have heard nothing else from them. I called to make sure my doctor sent everything in, still nothing. I pre booked a sleep study and an edoscopy/colonoscopy, so it wouldnt be a factor holding me up. Going for one test, now, has me going for MRI's and other tests. OMG! Now it looks like i will be off soon having carpol tunnel surgery, because I have some nerve damage, possibly off for 3 months, because of my field of work. Then I will have to be off for this surgery? Ugh, my body hates getting older. But this wait is awful!
I am feeling the same frustration with the waiting that you are. I had my orientation at Humber on February 13th and have still heard nothing from them. When I called last week to check on the status they told me they are still calling people who went for orientation in January and to give them another month.

The whole "hurry up and wait" process is definitely the hardest - but well worth it. Take this time to research the program, changing your way of eating, cut things out like pop, etc.. and start keeping a food log. It'll be over before you know it. Good luck!

I was just wondering how long it initially took the clinic to contact you in the first place.
I'm not looking to have surgery, but start on one of the other programs. My doctor made the referral a couple of weeks ago. Since I hadn't heard anything I called the clinic today and got the automated message that I would be contacted within a 12-14 month period. Does it actually take that long?

Wow Dawn! Thank you so much for adding that link! That was a very thoughtful post and exactly what a pre-op (me) needs to read!
