Post-op food stages!

I made it through my surgery (YAY!!!!!) and am just over 2 weeks post-op.  A few snags, but generally feeling good.

I've been living mostly off of milk, greek yogurt, and protein powder as part of the liquid diet, with some cream soups now and then and some 1 part fruit juice, 3 parts water popsicles.  No vomiting and only the occasional cramping when I swallow a little too much at once.

However I'm having some issues with the pureed diet in that I don't like pureed food.  I've tried several things (cauliflower, banana, sweet potato), but they all taste absolutely disgusting to me and the texture makes me feel sick.  I can't imagine making pureed meat and I don't like meat-alternatives (beans, lentils, chickpeas, etc).  I feel like I don't have many options for the 1-2 weeks of pureed food, but I am extremely looking forward to the soft food stage when I can finally have eggs again, and tuna and mashed or very soft vegetables.  I feel like my option open up so much once I get to soft foods that I'm really looking forward to it.

My issue is wondering if I can just sorta skip the pureed diet and stick with what I was eating during full fluid until I'm ready to start introducing the soft foods, or do I need to prepare my body in some way via puree before I can have things soft.  The greek yogurt is very thick and I have it a lot (I use it to have all of my vitamins), so I'm not sure if there's still a benefit for trying things in the puree stage or just waiting it out until the soft food stage.  Did anyone else skip a stage or find themselves unable to have anything during one of their stages?

Yay for making it great through surgery! I also had a very hard time with puréed food.  Some of the soups I made looked awesome until they were puréed and then they were instantly revolting! I would say I sort of skipped that phase, kept to the normal cream soups etc, lots of Greek yogurt. But I also had a lot of hummus but if u don't like beans and lentils you may not like hummus. I had a poached egg which went down well, I also roasted sweet potatoes and mashed them up. You can get around it creatively with smoothies. I usually so a protein shaken for one meal. I never puréed meat. But chilli in the Crock put and pretty much come out puréed too.

I was just checking TWH's list. There are quite a few foods that are not meat such as:

hummus

SF yogurt

poached egg

Protein shakes

Natural/plain Soy beverages

cottage cheese

Fish (moist mashed with a fork)

Before you had this surgery you knew you would be eating this stage. What was your plan? You are probably fine staying with pureed if you do not get bored with it.
