Sip and Walk, and Sip and Walk...

I write this as I am enjoying my vegetable broth in the Hosp. Surgery was yesterday morning and WOW is this gas killing me I'm sipping, walking, and sleeping.

I know a toot would make me feel better. Any other suggestions?

Sorry about the gas. It will move. Talk to the nurses. Perhaps they can suggest something. Glad you are alright otherwise

As a nurse I can tell you, your doing the right thing. Something you can try is a warm blanket over your belly. Ask the nurses if they have a blanket warmer then go raid it. 

Thank you ladies. I got a warm blanket on my belly and am enjoying a warm chamomile tea, which will be followed by more walking & sipping. 

Is there a tremendous temptation to start a wind symphony with the other patients? 

Too funny. My roommate had RNY as well, and I've never been envious of a burp until today :)

I had my surgery the same day at tegh. I was the same!!! The gas pain omg! When I started passing gas omg it was like heaven lol. Hang in there! Are you home yet? 

I was discharged today and home by noon. I took advantage of the morphine and Gravol drip. The gas pains were the worst. 

Hope all went well with you too and that you are home and comfortable.
