I add a spoonful of instant decaf coffee and ice to make an iced vanilla latte...add a squirt of SF syrup (I like Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce or Hazelnut)...it's really quite good like that.

I had half vanilla and half chocolate. I preferred the vanilla with a heaping scoopful of instant decaf coffee crystals blended in and the coldest you could get it drank in a cup with a straw and lid.. was VERY strong but helped get it down lol.. I ended up trading my chocolate to a friend who was also having surgery the same week.

Thanks for the tips.  We got to try the Opti at our nutrition group.  Chocolate was good but the vanilla was retched.  I think it also had to do with the fact that it was luke warm and I could smell it. Oh the smell.....

I am starting week 2 of opti and my reaction to vanilla on the first day was the same as yours.  I do what lammytee14 does - a tbsp. of instant decaf, a shot of sugar-free syrup (I love salted -caramel) and I'm good to go.  My daughter has regular vanilla protein shakes, and liked mine so much she has adopted the "recipe".  Also,  start with realllllly cold water.  Hope this helps - cheers!

I started my opti yesterday... I tried putting coconut extract in but that was gross.  I bought some red raspberry torani sf syrup and I really like that.  It just covers up the weird smell.

I felt the same way about the vanilla, it tastes like wallpaper paste lol, (not that I know what wallpaper paste taste like). I put almond extract, decaf coffee crystal, ice and water and blended it in the blender. Also as the others have posted a lid on the cup helps a lot!! Good luck, it gets easier.

Thank you all for your honest and helpful replies. I have been "doctoring" my shakes and coming up with some favorites if my own.  I find cinnamon really helps.   I know Opti is a weight loss option but not the right one for me.   Kudos to those who could stay on that program long term.

Only 12 days to go ;)

I found mixing the powder with a full litre of water made it bearable for me.  I didn't have the option of the chocolate flavour.
