OMG The vanilla Opti is HORRIBLE!!!
I'm on day one shake one and OMG the Vanilla opti is HORRIBLE!!!! I only have 2 weeks of opti (thankfully) but I need some serious help! How can I make this better?
I'm going to get some crystal light, and some SF torani syrups. Any other tried and true recipes?

Check out the recipes thread (http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/ontario_recipes/discussion/). It has a thread called Surviving Opti.
You can add unsweetened cocoa, decaf coffee (either instant, or use cold coffee instead of water), sf syrops, etc.
I had to drink mine really cold. Since I was at work, after I finished a shake, I'd clean the shaker, add 12 oz of water and put it in the fridge until I was having my next one. Some use ice and a bullet/blender to make theirs cold).
You can also try a cup with a lid & straw after you make it, so you don't smell it as you are drinking it.

There is an Ontario Recipe Group (look under COMMUNITY then click GROUPS) and in there, there's a TON of recipes.
One entire thread is devoted to Optifast recipes. Karen M is the owner of the group (bless her soul!) and there are some amazing tricks in there. Try them out!

I personally used coconut extract, raspberry Torani and caramel Torani to get through my three weeks of Opti. It wasn't so bad after all. Wishing you lots of luck as you get through it!

I had to buy one of those drink holders with the enclosed, built-in straw. It helps block the smell of the Opticrap and that helps immensely. Also, make it cold. Lots of ice. I tried lots of different flavours, syrups, etc and for me, nothing helped. The only way I could drink it was to chug it as fast as possible and say a few Hail Mary's that it didn't come back up again.
Most people do okay with crystal lites, Mio, etc. Experiment a bit and I'm sure you'll find something that helps you get it down.
