What changes did you make pre surgery?
I have quit smoking, no more coffee, no caffeine, no carbonated drinks, no alcohol. I make sure I have a protein with a carb for snacks, no meal skipping, 3 food groups for meals. Working on 64 oz water I usually can do this, working on small bites, eating slowly and chewing oh and no gulping water.
I think you are pretty much on track, Great job !!!!!!

I did some of those pre-surgery. Coffee, diet pop and alcohol were huge steps for me. I did have many food funerals though, lol

No lol, I needed it too I think. I've had no issues with cravings thus far *crosses fingers*. Well, I haven't had any issues with cravings that I can't have. I craved a burger hardcore, so I made a low carb burger (IE - bunless) with cheese and it satisfied me. The only thing I miss still is the ability to CHUG water. I used to be able to down half a bottle, no sweat. I find that I'm SO THIRSTY when I wake up and the smaller sips are not quite as satisfying, lol.
Good luck on your journey!

Definitely struggling with sipping water. I can down a bottle sometimes two. I have been working on it.
I don`t think it set me back, I had a short list of things that I wanted to have one last time and I did it over about 3 months before surgery. it was like milestones for me. Later donuts! See you ice cream! Nice knowing you McDonalds! All those things are part of my past now. Like a bad boyfriend. I think I can look back and mostly remember the nice times, but not to the point where I want to get back together!
I had a last dinner the night before opti. I went out to one of my fav restaurants with one of my best friends, had delicious food and lots of laughs and didn`t even get dessert. I knew I was ready. I knew it was going to be great. I think the food funerals helped me get in the right mindset, leaving my old habits in the past.
Enjoy Opti! No decisions, no cooking, no knives and forks! It`s a great time. ;)
