Just a quick question.     Comments on following WW program prior to surgery?     I am at the beginning of my journey......orientation next Thursday.    A friend wants to join and I thought any loss is better for me before WLS so why not join with her?

Need the experts to give me their advice/recommendations please.

Thanks so much!!!

Of all of the packaged programs, I believe WW is the most balanced and useful. It's really just sensible food choices, portion control, and adds a support group element as well.  If you want to give it a try, why not?

Thanks Karen.....its about accountability for me I guess and really to help out my very best friend who struggles as I do but hasn't got to the surgery stage in her head as yet.    She might and she might not ever.      She doesn't think her doc will refer her.....he's a bit of a goof in my opinion.

Ok....we r meeting for tea later today and I think we will sign up.

Tx Karen for the superfast response.     I will post updates here during my journey to WLS.    The more support the better.     :).

Great program and great support.  They are in business to help people lose weight and they know what they are doing.  I went back to Weigh****chers when I had a regain three years after surgery.

Weigh****chers was the only program I has success with. They do teach you a lot about healthy choices and that will definitely help you in the long run. Best of luck!

Have you thought about asking your friend to join you as a support person at your orientation? All the info may be good for her to learn as well. Just a thought.

I agree with the others that Weigh****chers is the most sensible program, not a diet so much as a way of life.  I would say, why not?
