Two years today
Today is my two year anniversary since I had my VSG and it has been wonderful can not believe how fast time goes by.
The first year and half things where great the weight just fell off, I had food restriction but I have to say the last 6 months have been a real struggle I can eat anything I have less restriction I have had a regain of 20 pounds.
I will say I am struggling I have attended mindful eating group and done a few things but I am still struggling. I have gotten back to working out lately and trying to eat properly but its this stupid brain of mine that I can't shut off to tell me to stop eating **** its not that I want it I know its a habit.
With all that said I have enjoyed my life so much these last two years being able to walk, cycle and do other things is amazing. I have met some wonderful people during this process that are inspiration to me. Next week I go back to TWH for my two year appointments and see how everything is going.
Thank you to all of you here that have listen and gave advise.
Lynn

Hey Lynn,
Happy Surgiversary! You have been a huge inspiration and support to many of us. As I get closer to my two year mark, it's scaring me, truly scaring me what I can eat. Should I be testing the waters? Nope, but I can and do. I actually dumped, seriously dumped not once but twice this week! What??!! I know better, but still made the same choices.
Its been an amazing journey and our lives have changed in ways we had never imagined. I focused I suppose on the weight, the number on the scale, would I ever, could I ever weigh less than 300, then 200? Shocking I am wearing size 6 so why do I jeapordize all this work done with wrong food choices?
As so many of our vets tell us (I cant consider myself one until I get through a couple of years of maintenance) maintenance is the hard part and when the real work begins. They are SO right.
You've got this Lynn. You have reached out to your clinic, your here with us, you are not in denial. You know it, you see it, you feel it.
Keep fighting the battle, its with us forever and we CAN do this!
Annette 😉
Congrats on your two years. I would ask if you could do the course again. I think that it was at a not-great time for you to be able to focus on it, with everything that was going on at the time. I think it would benefit you for sure. Glad to see that you're working out again. And look at where you came from! You're doing great!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Thanks Ladies.
