Bathing suit alternatives?
Now that I have lost some weight, I have some loose skin.
I want to buy a bathing suit that will cover my thighs. I'm thinking a skirt or short bottom but where do you find them. \i went to Walmart already but the short bottoms don't cover enough. I thought about a bicycle/athletic short but didn't know if that would work well or not.
What do you use? Where did you find it?
Finding the right bathing suit is just as hard as finding the right bra. I wouldn't recommend a skirt bottom if you plan to actually move in the water at all, it just gets caught up in itself. The short bottom is a good idea and I have seen them everywhere. Your best bet would be to go to an actual bathing suit store for the best variety but places like Sears always have lots of options as well.

Karen is right about Sears. You can go online and search TYR suits, they are expensive but last a long time. You can buy a tankini top and match it with a guys swim short (same blue and black pattern and nothing that says this is a guy short) it will also come with a skirt, so you decided if you want to wear the skirt or the shorts.

Oh I hear ya on the skin issues. I just saw a few different bottoms at Wal Mart. They had a few skirt styles but were very short. What I bought last summer was a skort at Costco. It was not a true bathing suit material, more like a polyester.
This season, Costco has new skorts made of a similar material. I bought two! They are really comfy and don't go to my knee and are a little longer than last years skort i

I have a tummy trimmer type skirt that has like a short capri under it, it keeps my thighs for jiggling all over the place and the skirt is cute, for more of a cover up as I am walking to and from the pool I use a sarong. During the summer months the fabric stores have amazing sheer fabrics, that you just need a couple of metres of to sew a small heam and then wrap around your waist

As Patm mentioned, Lands End has great suits. I have ordered 3 in the last 4 years. Mine fit great and the fabric was better quality than others that I had purchased in department stores. They have so many choices for style and length that you can customize what will work best for you. Some of them can get a little pricey, but I found pieces in my size in their clearance section. I have also had good experiences with them for shipping and returns.
I purchased 2-piece suits, with skirted bottoms and tankini tops. I did find the one with the longer skirt harder to move in due to so much fabric so I switched to a shorter skirt style and loved it.

I find the above site excellent and it goes down to size 14. I read all the customer reviews on an item and then decide. I have had great luck here and the prices are reasonable.
I am so freakin' immature or over-tired or something... "Aquatard" has me literally crying I'm laughing so hard. At my desk. At work.
