Hey ! You are doing amazing !! Go girly  It's great to hear when people post and say they've had no issues . I was also fearful of having at least some . But I'm the same , smooth sailing ( touch wood !) and I feel stronger every day . I did enjoy the group session also ,great bunch of people ,  but Seyenna and I went together , and we both left kind of dismayed at some of the questions being asked there. And some of the things people were saying they were eating ! One woman said to us  " have you guys tried chips yet ? Do yourselves a favor and don't try them cos they go down waaaaaay to easy and now I can't stop " !!!! Wtf !?!? Lol

We mentioned these boards and no one had heard of them . Which explained a lot for me ! This forum is just such an invaluable learning tool and I really don't know where I'd be without it . Maybe I'd be asking fellow RNY patients in waiting rooms when they tried chips for the first time !!

Anyway ,you are doing great and I'm happy for you . It really is life changing .

Keep it up lovey x .Jax x

Awww, thanks Jax!  Glad to hear that you're having an easy time of recovery too!

Most of the people in my 1 month class seemed really knowledgeable.  Some were having issues with the protein shakes (not liking them after surgery) but by and large it seemed like everyone was on the ball.  Thankfully there were no stories of chip eating or blending Big Macs during the pureed stage!   It was just a really positive experience.  It was clear that everyone in the room was happy they had gone ahead with the surgery and that it had already done wonderful things for them.

Did you do your 1 month at TWH or another centre (I know you and Seyenna both had surgery at TWH but you both live outside of Toronto)?

Hey ,

Yeah we did our one month at Humber . They gave us the option to either stay with TWH where we had surgery , or go back to Humber , where we had all our prior appointments.  We chose Humber simply due to the travel aspect . If we have to . Apparently we can have some appointments via Tele health at locations up here in Barrie . We did our pre ops that way and it worked out really well . So I'm hoping most from now on can be done this way . Saves a drive !

Wow! It's hard to believe it's been a month for us, eh? Glad to hear everything has still been going well!

Interesting how the 1 month appt is different at Windsor compared to TWH. I only had a one on one appt with a nutritionist and the the doctor. No group sessions for me, which is too bad. It's always nice to hear how others are doing.

I'm so happy that things are going well for you too, surgery buddy!  Time is just flying by now. Next week I'm going back to work, so I'm gearing up for that. I managed to get the flu yesterday, but other than that slight blip, I've been healing on schedule and things just keep getting better!  Keep well and let me know if/when you're coming to Toronto - we could go get a coffee and compare notes!

Hey, thanks for the informative post. I am still waiting to meet my surgeon, but it is great to hear what people like you are experiencing. It was nice of you to share your experience.

Keith

P.S. you were joking about the chip lady,......right?
