Wondering how much pain others experienced. .. I had a ton yesterday.  Still pretty bad today in my tummy and back.  hurts like hell when I get up. Wondering if this is normal?

It sounds like gas pain, which is normal, but speak to your doctor.

I think its pretty normal ... I had very bad back pain. It went away around the 5th day after surgery. Take care.

I had horrible gas pain for a week...it wasn't until I had a "induced" bowel movement that the pain went away. 

Just keep sipping and walking.  The walking will help things get moving, and soon you'll be toot tooting your way around.

I think everyone's perception of pain is very individualized. I think considering that you just had major abdominal surgery that your pain is probably normal. I'm sure it will get better. Congratulations on making it to the losers bench keep a spot warm for me :-) Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery :-)

Nikki, it is probably gas pain. As Cathy said keeping sipping water and walk walk walk. Walking really helped me to get rid of that gas pain. If if you don't have the energy still push yourself for a walk - even a few steps. You will notice difference.
