How many appointments
So I have limited sick days to take for appointments. Just curious how many appointments there are before surgery. I have no major issues so don't anticipate a sleep test so that is one less. Also do they try and schedule multiple appointments on one day or each one gets it own day? I appreciate any info you can provide. If it helps I am scheduled in at the ottawa centre.

I would get the sleep test locally by your family doctor as most centers require it and it may shorten your wait time. I went through HRRH and they were able to put most of my appointments together on one day. Good luck!

Hi, I went through TWH and after my orientation I requested multiple appts to be at each visit. So I usually had 3 at a time, that way I didn't have to take off so much time as I don't get paid if I'm not working.

Any appointments needed at OWMC, they really try to accommodate and put them all together for you. So I could see the nurse, dietitian and behaviourist all in the same day.
However, other appointments with specialists or centres elsewhere are a different story. For those, you take them pretty much as soon as you can get them because a lot of them might have a heck of a waiting list. Depending on your STOPBANG test (the one that tells them if you need a sleep study) you may have to schedule that and it could be quite a wait. I needed a cardiologist to do a full echocardiogram and sign off (I have a heart murmur) and that appointment took quite some time before it could be booked. It was at the Civic, but that was the only appointment I had that day... nothing else.
So the standard answer is still good... "It all depends."
Hang in there. And feel better soon!
