Hi, I hope you are all doing well in your weight loss endeavours. Im curious about wait times. I had my orientation Jan 9, 2015 at HRRH and am wondering how long it takes the majority of you to start being booked for your appointments with dietician, sleep study, surgeon etc....

You;re probably looking at a couple of months before you get your first appointments set up... I had my orientation Jan 9 2014 and my first appointments weren't until march. So unless they have something sooner it'll be a few months. Surgery wise you are probably waiting anywhere from 10+ months till the actual surgery. Mine was exactly 11 months to the day.

Thank you for the info. was your surgery 11 months after the date of your initial orientation? Did you also have your surgery in Toronto at Humber River?

Yes surgery was 11 months after the orientation. I had mine at TWH.

My orientation was Feb 27/14 and my surgery is booked for Jan 27/15...also exactly 11 months to the day. It probably could have been a bit quicker for me because I already had the sleep study done but sometimes I had to delay appointments to work around my work schedule. My surgery is in Guelph

I too am relatively new to this forum but I think there have been some shorter but 11 months is pretty typical if not a bit longer.

Thanks, it does seem to be the magic number of months is in or around 11 😊

I'm going through HRRH referral sent in April 2014, Orientation Aug 2014, Surgeon November 2014, Trio appointment Feb. 5 Surgery date TBD. What I am hearing and seeing I'm looking at surgery May/June 2015.

March 2014 Doctor sent referal, Orientation Humber Aug 2014, Surgeon Nov. 2014, Trio Appt. Feb 2015 - Request transfer to Guelph Mar. 2015 Orientation Guelph April 9th, 2015 Initial one-on-one May 5th, 2015. Trio Appt. Aug. 14th, 2nd Trio Oct. 16. Nov. 20 Approved. , Meeting Surgeon Dec. 23. Opti Fast Jan. 14th, Surgery Date: Jan. 28th 2016

Hi there I am new too!! My referral was sent Aug 2014, refaxed Nov 14, orientation HRRH is Han 26/15, been reading a lot of the forum old posts, the wait times really seem to vary!!! The odd person us quicker but yes the average seems to be1 year ish,, I hear HRRH is the busiest Centre (friend is a dietician) . That is what she told me on Sunday. Good luck to us all!!
