Just wondering how long is the average time to be off work after the surgery?

It depends on what kind of work you do.  I have an office job and was given 4 weeks.  Some try earlier some take longer.

I was told 4-6 weeks, depending on how I do post-op and because my job requires heavy lifting they said probably 6 weeks :-)

Here in Ottawa, they request a minimum of four weeks for your recovery. However, depending on the type of job you do, it can be more than that. I work at a desk in an office. They still wanted me off for four weeks. If I had heavy lifting or a lot of bending, stretching, etc., it would likely be six weeks or more.

I have a desk job and went back after 9 days. With no lifting for me that was easy except for getting really sleepy in the afternoons. I came home the first few days and went straight to bed...lol Otherwise I had no pain etc. I was bored ...
