Iron Deficiency - Will it effect surgery?

Will my surgery be postponed because I'm iron deficient? I have done all the steps pre op, and my next step is to be cleared from the surgeon. I'm hopeful that I'll have surgery scheduled very soon, but I'm worried that my being iron deficient will prevent that. Any insight?

I would talk to your family doctor and start treating it now. I have been having problems with anemia and iron deficiency since I had surgery a year ago and have been recieving treat since March 2014 for my problems. I had my appointment with the clinic nurse December 15th/2014 and my iron was still borderline low so she advised me to start taking Vitamin C with my iron as it helps with absorption so that by the time I have more blood work I should be good.

Thanks :) I've been referred to get iron infusions, as supplements aren't working for me. I'm still waiting for a call about it.
