I spent a lot of my first 2 weeks post op doing just that.

I feel your pain. I had my period 2 weeks apart last month and I am about 14 months post op. Periods for me have been very heavy and OMG the cramps. It is like giving birth once a month. I have always had painful cramps on the first day of my period that lasted just 1 day. It is the same now, except the pain is 100x worse. I had an ultrasound and they diagnosed me with Adenomyosis

When it comes to matters of the female plumbing......it's always wise to have an internal physical/ultra sound....JUST to make sure everything is A.OK. However....as you have seen already...it is a VERY common thing after weightloss surgery. If everything checks out ok, maybe look into stopping your periods with Birth control etc. It's something I discussed with my dr but decided not to do YET. However once a month I start screaming "You IDIOT why didn't you take the pills!" lol

Hope everything works out for you

I am going to try to get into my doctor tomorrow, it is driving me mental. I feel so tired, and drained, and just blah... I hope it is nothing serious, and just my hormones reacting to the weight loss. I am also not on any birth control, haven't been for years, it may be something I need to look into again to regulate this nightmare~

Hope everything works out for you too!! and thank you for the kind words xo

for the first year post op my regular 5 day like clock-work cycle was still like clock work except 4x heavier.. I opted for a vaginal hysterectomy. best decision I made for me post op. Mind you, I am 43, single, 2 adult children, do NOT want more children. It is nice to have no more menstrual cycle and be able to have intercourse every single day of the year if I wanted (TMI lol) I know this isnt the route everyone is willing to take, just sharing my insight on post op periods

Jennifer, what did the doctor say?  Has it helped sooth your concerns?
