Need a new bathing suit... Size 14-16.  Trouble is, my thighs are gross and I want to keep them covered up. Any suggestion on where to find a bathing suit this time of year...that would have swim shorts??

Check out Winners/Marshalls.  A week ago I saw a size 14suit that was a cutie short dress would be perfect for beach or any use.  Not meant for serious swimming but perfect for beachbumin.

i have a tankini that has a skirt that covers my thighs and the top is fully covered so it looks like a 1 piece.  i got mine at giant tiger a few years back.  a while back i seen someone post this site for bathing suits online.  Its for plus size not sure if they sell for smaller sizes. Edited my post looks like there are a few pages you can look at i did some googling.  Good luck finding a swim suit that you like.

you could try just ordering a skirt to add to a suit you find also http://www.alwaysforme.com/plussize-swim-skirt-4pm92w.html

I was just a Addition Elle today.  They have bathing suits on sale. They start at size  14.  They have longer swim shorts that look like biker shirts. I was at the one in Ancaster.

Many large department stores like The Bay carry suits all year round. On line at Lands End you can get suits with shorts

Lot of places let you mix and match a two piece. You could get tankini top with a boy-style short bottom. Check out The Bay, they usually have good swimwear. Don't go for the skirt - it doesn't flatter anyone and frankly, it draws attention to what you thought you were hiding. Get something comfortable and dive in! Who cares what you look like. Are there a lot of bikini models at your local beach/pool? No way. Everyone should feel comfortable at the beach.

That said, does anyone else think we should bring back 1920s-style swimming costumes? You know, with the pantaloons down to the knees?! I'd be totally down for that! LOL

Lol good point.  I want to feel good though, and part of that confidence will come from covering up my bottom half -- I look awesome from the waist up... Waist down, not so much.

will check out the links, thanks all for posting them.  Gotta keep the costs down as I won't be wearing this size for long (I hope)

Victoria's Secret Swim has a great sale on right now, it's all online (so you can't try on) but the prices are really reasonable (like $9 for a top/bottom instead of $50!)

See if you can find a nice wrap or sundress to wear over your bathing suit, this is what I do. I have a cute sundress I wear over my bathing suit at the beach, and only take it off to go in the water. I feel much more confident in it.
