Nurse, Dietitian, SW - Passed!
Had my three appointments today, Everyone was lovely!! I was so nervous, but when they started quizzing me, I knew all the answers!! Thank goodness I had my hubby with me, could not have made it through the day without him. I just couldn't do all the walking alone, he paid a loonie for a transport chair and pushed me around all day!! So just have to wait on blookwork results, and the long wait to see Dr. Glazer in March. I tried to get an earlier appt today, no luck Wow!! Now I just can't wait!!! Sooo happpy!
Thank you Annie and Chrissy!
Chrissy, it would be amazing if we have our surgery the same day, or close enough that we can go through this together, at the same stage. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that Dr. Glazer will ok me for surgery, with the other health issues I have. Which would probably mostly resolve if I lost a lot of weight. Catch 22......
Good luck in January, I know you pass, and then your appt with Dr. Glazer is close after that!
Congrats
question - what does it seem is the average number of round of appts that ppl have before they're cleared for surgery and await a surgeon appt? As in, how rounds do average people (ie. ppl who don't have extra complications & who don't have to see an internist) go thru seeing nurse/SW/dietician? I'm going through Guelph and have 2nd rounds in January.
Thanks
Guelph - Referral: August '14. Orientation: Oct 23/14. Nurse: Nov 26/14. Dietician/SW: Dec 12/14. Nurse 2/Dietician 2: Jan 20/15. SW 2: Jan 30/15 CLEARED by all 3! Feb '15: H Pylori testing. Pre-surgery nutrition class: Mar 23/15. Meet surgeon: May 22/15 with Dr.Reed Surgeon Appt #2: June 16/15. Surgery date: Aug 20/15.
For me, at HRRH, my first contact was an orientation session. Then I had to have an appt. with the surgeon. Next were the three appts. with SW, Nurse, and dietitian. Sometimes people have to repeat these three appoints. if they feel you still need to work on some issues. Then, as far as I know, everyone has to see the internist. He will decide if you are good to go for surgery, or any further testing is required first. Once he passes you for surgery, the surgeon will book your surgery. I am not sure if the surgeon would want to see you again, prior to surgery. I am not sure if it is the same in Guelph. Hope this helps. Good luck in January!
Congratulations onward we march, 1 appointment at a time :-) !!!
