I went to see Dr Hynes in Hamilton today. he was very nice, explained the procedure. His charge is $8900 plus HST. he stated my skin is in too good of shape to consider OHIP. I see Dr Mati on London this week. Anyone had the procedure done in the Hamilton, Toronto, St. Catherines, Burlington area. He stated a FDL would not be needed. Is this expensive or is the cost what I should expect?

Your asking about a tummy tuck? I just had mine done in Barrie 10 days ago. $5300.00. Tax in. $5000 was the surgeons fee, $300 went to the hospital for the admin fee. The panni was approved and covered by OHIP. If there wasn't approval granted by OHIP it would have been $7500 I believe, again, tax in.

There are many surgeons in the GTA that will send in your referral to OHIP.

You can message me if you like, I am happy to share what I have learned.

edited to add: my fees included lipo of flanks and mons repair.

Dr Daniel Martin on Keele st did my fleur dis lie tummy tuck a year ago. OHIP covered the panni portion of it. I also had a breast reduction and lift (got rid of the tube socks). That was not covered by ohip. It cost $6000 plus hst. I stayed one night in hospital at humber church. I was told that it did not change the price.

Good luck, shop around and negotiate!

I had a fleur de lis tummy tuck with a mons lift and liposuction. Both surgeons I went to quoted $12000. Nothing was covered by OHIP because I did not meet the requirements.

You owe it to yourself to exhaust all options of trying to get  part of it covered by OHIP ,( panniculectomy) then you can possibly upgrade to a full tummy tuck  with muscle repair. The first plastic surgeon I saw told me that OHIP didn't cover anything & that it would have to be all self pay no matter how bad it was. IT WAS BAD..... grade 3 panni, hanging mid thigh. I then got another referral to Dr. Elahi (Scarborough General) he applied to OHIP on my behalf & not only was I covered for the panni portion but also muscle repair (do to a large hernia) & a breast lift & reduction. I paid out of pocket for the lipo. Good Luck  and remember some Doctors just won't & can't be bothered to applying for OHIP. I think your price of  $8900 +HST is  fair  because the first ps I saw quoted me just under $11,000. Take Care.

You can also try Dr. Nandagopal at Scarborough General. Dr. Matic in London will usually do the OHIP application for patients. My Fleur de Lis in London with Dr. Arjang Yazdani was around $7000 I think.
