Another question - taking lithium after surgery
I am currently on 900 mgs of lithium and I was wondering if anyone else is on it did you continue to take it after your WLS and if so, did you have any issues? The reason I am asking is because I have gained weight while on it, and I get nauseaus on it if I don't take it with food. I'd love to hear your experience with it and any advice. Thanks in advance!

Hi Dreamy - There was a thread just a couple of days ago regarding mood stabilizers and weight gain post op.

Basically, if you've been on it for a long time and your weight has evened out, you probably won't have any issues post-op with weight gain. That's the theory anyway. I'm in the same boat and hoping that Epival won't affect my weight loss post-op. Would definitely be a good question to ask the Nurse practitioner when you meet with them.
