Dr Glazer
I have not noticed his name before. Going through HRRH, Who is he, what does he do and why do we now need to go through him too? It just seems to add a further delay. My appt is not scheduled until Mar 30! Dr. Hagen said that surgery would be 2 to 3 months after that. Can't stand this waiting. Are we supposed to be trying to lose weight all this time? My orientation was July 28. Thanks. I really appreciate all the info found in everyone's replies.
Dr Glazer is internal medicine. He is the gate keeper so to speak. He will determine if you are safe for surgery. He looks at the big picture & should you require an ICU bed post op he is the one looking after you. Some of us have some serious co-morbidities & he determines if you are fit for anesthesia.

Dr. Glazer is wonderful and charismatic, and very funny. He'll also decide if you need extra testing, scopes, sleep tests, etc. He'll look through your blood tests and determine if you need more vitamins or prescriptions for ailments (for example, H Pylori). As others have said, he's your gatekeeper. Trust in the process.

Have you had your trio appointments with the nurse/sw/diet. ? If not they are looking to see ifyou are serious about this journey. They expect you to be changing your ways and yes even trying to loose a bit of weight. Journaling is important to show you are changing your eating habits. Dr. Glazer is great! Good luck, dont ru**** things happen in sequence for a reason! :)
