IUD surgically removed
I am 11 months post-op and I have had my IUD for 5 years. I went to my doctor's office to have him remove it, and I was told they couldn't, because either the strings were cut to short, or it has moved over the past 5 years. Apparently it's a common, enough procedure. I was contemplating not getting another one, but when I had my year follow-up at the OWMC, I was told my iron levels were perfect, probably due to the fact I rarely get a period - so I decided to get another one.
I am just curious if this could be in connection with losing weight - that the IUD moved? I did have an ultrasound and it is where, it is supposed to be - they just can't reach it.
Oh those suckers move alright. I'm 9 mths post op. & mine is MIA too right now. My ob/gyn said that due to my age 10 yrs is ok. I would just like to know where mine is right now

I would think that it would definitely shift with weight loss.. I went to the dentist and my old one retired and i had a new young dentist I hadn't seen prior and he says to me "mind if I ask you this. have you lost a lot of weight?" I then told him and asked how he knew. .. he said he could tell by the inside of my mouth and the loose skin! in other words, we have loose skin ALL over.. even on our insides
